Review the first: Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation

Recently I seem to have become a fan of Maybelline products. I'm not sure why I never really looked at them before!

I received a free sample of this foundation from the Maybelline website some months ago (something I sent off for and was available to everyone). At that time, my previous foundation had run out, so I decided to just try out this one (fortunately, they'd sent me the right colour- 005 light beige).

SuperStay has SPF 20, is available in 8 shades and costs £8.99 at both Boots and Superdrug. It has a useful pump, comes in a 30 ml glass bottle and has the ambitious tagline of 'better looking skin in 3 weeks.'

The packaging: I quite like the look of this foundation. It's simple but all the important stuff is on there. Most of the bottle is just transparent glass, which is great as you'll always know how much you have left. There's a small label at the front with the name and colour on. Again, the label is transparent with blue and silver text. Overall, the look of this foundation is what you'd expect for the price. Not overly complicated or fancy, but not cheap looking either. The only downside I have with this product is that it's a pump. Whilst I love pumps on foundations because it's easy to always get the right amount so there's no waste, I dislike them when the product is near the end. It's a case of lots of pumping or scraping out the remainder. As this foundation is in a glass bottle, I think the last few drops may end up being wasted.

The product: This is one of the best foundations I've ever tried! The consistency is so smooth, silky and light and a small amount gives great coverage. I also have found that it has improved my skin in that I have fewer breakouts. I recommend using it with a primer (I use Maybelline Baby Skin) as this foundation doesn't last all day if you have oily/ combination skin, but then not many foundations do! This is a great foundation for summer due to it's light consistency and SPF factor.

Value for money: The free sample that I got from the website was only 10 ml and lasted for 2 months of daily use, so this product will last  long time, which is something that makes it great value. I don't think the quality of the foundation could be improved much either. Overall, I'd say this product is great value for money.

If you're looking for a new foundation, I'd give this one a try. It's certainly something I'll repurchase!
